Programmes

Two pathways, one destination.

Every HSS pathway starts with Finnish language for healthcare and ends with a paid clinical placement in a Finnish partner care facility. Total duration is typically 6 – 24 months, depending on starting level and pathway.

Why two parallel pathways

International recruitment into healthcare has different needs. Some candidates want the full qualification and a long career — the Practical Nurse pathway suits them. Others want to move into paid care work faster, often with the option to continue studies later — that is the Care Assistant pathway. Finnish language is the shared foundation of both.

The same learning platform on both pathways

All teaching happens on our own e-learning platform. It has:

  • 200+ Finnish language modules focused on healthcare vocabulary
  • 735 tracked exercises in the Practical Nurse vocational curriculum
  • AI-assisted assessment — you get feedback on written exercises immediately
  • Gamified practice: word games, memory games, crosswords, spoken word recognition
  • All progress recorded — reports for your coordinator and, on request, your future employer

The programme is always free of charge for accepted students. Participation does not guarantee employment in Finland — employment is the outcome of a successful clinical placement and a hiring decision by a Finnish employer.
